Wuxi - Plum GardenJiangsu - Lianyungang - Nanjing - Suzhou - Wuxi - Yangzhou - ZhenjiangThe Plum Garden, once the property of a high-ranking official of the Qing dynasty, is on Hushan hill in the southwest corner of Wuxi. As the name suggests, the garden is planted all over with plum trees.
In early spring the plum trees come into full bloom, while in mid-autumn the entire garden is permeated with the heady fragrance of sweet-scented osmanthus trees. The blossoms are especially beautiful in the spring, but visitors come year round to enjoy the pavilions, halls, caves and greenery. The Nianqu pagoda in the highest part of the garden provides excellent views of the surrounding area. |
